Funding for CACs and FI Experts

A Message from the CEO

Danielle Vandegriff, CEO/Executive Director, Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers

Governor DeWine signed the FY 2026-2027 state budget late last night and I'm happy to announce that the Ohio Network of Children's Advocacy Centers will receive $6 million dollars over the next biennium. The funds will be used to administer and distribute grants to Child Advocacy Centers to coordinate statewide access to investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child sexual abuse, while helping children heal.  I look forward to working with all of our statewide partners to continue to change lives for all of Ohio's children and families.

Danielle M. Vandegriff, CEO

Forensic Interviewer Expert One-Pager

Forensic Interviewers (FIs) that work with Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) are specially trained individuals that conduct interviews generally on children ages 3-18 and sometimes adults with developmental/cognitive disabilities. Forensic Interviewers can be used as expert witnesses in your community for a variety of topics. This sheet will overview how they meet the law regarding qualifying as an expert witness and ways to utilize them.
