Child Abuse Prevention Month
Child Abuse Prevention Month takes place every April. During this month, organizations and communities raise awareness around child abuse as well as methods and mechanisms for prevention. The month is symbolized by either the blue pinwheel or a blue ribbon, representing innocence, strength, prevention, and the hope of a brighter future. Learn how you can show your support down below.
How Can You Take Part?
Community members can provide support and awareness by engaging in events throughout the state, such as pinwheel planting, Ohio For Kids Day (April 8th), Ohio Wears Blue Day (April 14th), and by spreading informational social media campaigns raising awareness about child abuse.
Additionally, communities across the state can engage in prevention efforts by collaborating with their local CACs to bring prevention education curriculums to the public.

Social Media Toolkit
Social media campaigns are an integral component of Child Abuse Prevention Month! Join ONCAC in sharing important information about child abuse statistics, prevention, and education. The toolkit below includes social media graphics and suggested language for posts to amplify impact! Additionally, Ohio Wears Blue Day will take place on Wednesday, April 14th. You can join the movement by wearing blue and posting on social media. Be sure to include #itsyourbusiness and #noexcuseforchildabuse and to tag @OhioCACNetwork!
School Spirit Week
ONCAC is collaborating with child advocacy centers throughout Ohio as well as state partners to spread the word about school spirit week! Encourage your local school districts to take part in school spirit week by sharing the below flyer!
