APPLICATION TO ATTEND

BTS2 sessions may only be attended after your application has been approved. Walk-in registrants will not be allowed admission. Applications will be approved or denied in the order by which they are received. First come, first served. There are a limited number of seats for each session. With over 800 BTS graduates that qualify to attend, you will need to register as soon as you are able. Waiting lists will be created for each training. You will be notified regarding your attendance status within two weeks of your application date.

COMMITMENT

To qualify to attend this training, you must:

  • Have completed Beyond the Silence
  • Have the commitment from your supervisor to not be on-call during the session times (ONCAC may verify)
  • Attend the entire 2 1/2 days of training
  • Bring a videotape or DVD of an interview for peer review

Our preference is that trainees bring a copy of an actual interview of a child for peer review (strictly education purposes). Confidentiality agreements will be signed by all participants. If the prosecutor (or other official) will not allow the transport and usage of an actual tape, or recordings are not made in your specific jurisdiction, then a mock interview can be substituted. More information will be provided to individuals that are approved to attend the training.

TUITION

Fees for training vary. Please refer to the brochure for each particular training or call ONCAC at 614-722-0500. If the training is sponsored by a Regional Training Center (RTC), there will be no fee for law enforcement officers, children services employees, or prosecutors.

Continuing Professional Education Credit

Each scheduled Beyond the Silence Two session has been approved for eleven (11) hours of Social Work CPE credits and 13.25 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for prosecutors (Athens pending, others approved), and we are applying for the new law enforcement Continuing Professional Training (CPT) credits as well. More information regarding the approval of these applications will be posted in this section as soon as we verify the program's approval.
